Austin Zoo
Earlier this week, the Lauriats and the Bagnalls went to visit Austin Zoo & Animal Sanctuary. We had a great time!
Lena's favorite part was the reptile house where she spent her time examining this lizard.
In the petting zoo, we got to feed little axis deer (so tasty and cute to boot!) and llamas (watch out, they spit!)
Momma's favorite part was getting to hear a lioness growl from just a few feet away. (Don't worry, she perked right up once she saw it was a cat person coming around the corner.)
We'll definitely be going back again soon!

Socks
Lena appears to be picking up her Poppa's bad habit of leaving socks under the coffee table. Either that, or baby socks are magnetically attracted to poppa socks!

Lena and Alex
Lena's cousin Alex came for a visit over Thanksgiving. Lena really looks up to her big cousin! He showed her how to play with her jack-in-the-box toy and after he left, she was getting #2, 4, an 5 - all by herself! (Previously, she could only do #3 without help.)

Sesame Street's Put Down the Pacifier Day
So, evidently, next week is Sesame Street's Put Down the Pacifier Day.
HaHaHA! Elmo is Lena's favorite! If she used a binky, she would give it
up for Elmo.

Assisted walker
Lena rearranges my dining room furniture!
OK, so it was the end of the day and she was obviously very tired, but check out how our little mover is getting around all on her own.

Sick (again)
Poor baby is sick again. Running a fever sent us to the doc today. Lena has an ear infection in her left ear. Now the whole family is on antibiotics. Whee!
A friend at work recommend probiotic supplements to help combat some of the less desirable affects of the antibiotics. Any one have any experience with those? Either for themselves or with babies?

Thuya Gardens
Today is Momma and Poppa's fourth anniversary. To celebrate, the entire family went to visit Thuya Gardens in Northeast Harbor--the place where we got married!
The hummingbirds were swarming! Priscilla, the head gardener at Thuya, told us the males had already left, but the females and juveniles were "tanking up" for their big migration. What a treat!
