Just got back from our first trip to the beach. Tropical Storm Don is still a hundred miles away and today it is beautiful and sunny in Port A.

After our experience at Zilker the other week (it was hot, baby got fussy, momma had to abort early back to the car. Boo!) we have added a new misty mate to the stoller.

It sits in the cup holder and the cord can clip right to the front of the shade. Very handy! Lena loves playing in the water spray! And it really works to cool things down. 

By the end of the round, baby was soaking wet, but at least baby made it through all 18 holes!

We were there with our friend Rae, who just celebrated her one year birthday last week. Lunch followed our regular Saturday morning story time at BookPeople. Today was yoga story time! We had fun making the fun poses - lizard, cat and cow. Hooray for our first yoga!

One well baby

We just got out of Lena's 9 month well baby check up. She's 23lbs 10oz (95%) 30" (95%) and her head is 17 5/8" (75-95%).

Our baby girl is happy and healthy!

...and very adept at flirting with the nurses, office staff, everyone!

Baby BBQ

A couple of months ago, we hosted what turned out to be a Baby BBQ. Lena's friends, Rae (then 9mos) and Lydia (then 11mos) came over and visited for the afternoon. Everyone had a great time playing in our new play yard and with our swing!

1981

We are having Sage Day at work here tomorrow, to celebrate Sage's 30 year anniversary.  As part of the festivities, we were all asked to bring in a picture of ourselves from 1981. 

Since I had to scan it in, I thought you might like to see a copy too!  The caption on the back, in Grammy's handwriting, reads:

"Mary and Carol gave Stacy the ballerina outfit for her birthday.  Needless to say it was a big hit."

Since Momma doesn't have to work today, Lean gets to spend the whole day with her! Hooray!

Actually, sometimes the kitty does let himself get caught. And then puts up with the hands and the drool and the squeals (of joy) for a few minutes. He is such a cool cat.
