SCIENCE!

This morning Lena participated in a research study at the Children's Research Lab in Langlois Social Development Lab at the University of Texas.

A cap with a series of electrodes measured Lena's brain activity as she looked at a series of images of different faces.

The purpose of the study is to measure response to various faces in an effort to understand when and how racial stereotypes (and perceptions of beauty) are formed.

Lena didn't mind the cap at all. She got a little bored watching the faces, but I think she lasted long enough to give them some good data!

After the study, Lena's head looked like she got grabbed by an octopus. :)

Bathtime

Lena loves touching the water, but she hasn't yet quite figured out why she can't grab it.

Jump Up

Watch Lena swing in her Jump Up. These are older pictures from the day Lena got her JumpUp. Momma thinks Oma has almost as much fun with it as Lena does!

Baby loves disc golf!  And today Lena got a disc of her very own. Maybe someday Lena will throw it.

Lena and Oma

This is an older picture of Lena with her Oma. Momma just had to share (even if it is a bit blurry) because Oma looks so happy.

Oma is up in Maine now and we miss her! Can't wait to have her back in Texas with us!

Mind if I grab it and drool on it for you?

Lydia is the daughter of Brendan and Kelly. She is about four months older than Lena.

What a charmer! Look at that Lydia flirt with the camera!

Poppa's hurt ankle

Back in February, Poppa almost broke his ankle. We had to go the emergency clinic for xrays and Lena was very patient through the whole process. Luckily, nothing was broken, but we did come home with crutches and need to rest. It took Poppa many, many weeks to heal. In the meantime, however, hanging out on the couch together became a favorite pastime.

You can almost see one of the crutches in the background
