Little person

Lena Rose turned 10 months old this weekend and I have to reflect on the little person she has become. No longer is she a baby willing to do whatever Momma or Poppa suggests, she now has her own desires and wants and does not hold back letting us know when those are not being met. (ie "Yeah, I know you want me to sleep, Mom, but look - kitty! I want to eat that kitty!")

I can see her mental wheels turning when she gets a new toy or problem--like when sneaky Momma puts her toy in an empty tissue box for her to pull out (and put back in again.) She is very clever. There are a hundred buttons on the remote control, and she knows exactly which one makes the whole thing light up. And will scream her discontent if she isn't allowed to push it repeatedly or if parents try to swap the grownup remote for her own toy remote (you would think talking Elmo would suffice, but alas, no.)

She notices new things. When Momma wears a piece of jewelry she hasn't seen, or if there's a door open to room she doesn't visit often, she notices! New foods? Practically required! (ie - "Sweet potatoes again, Mom?" "But I thought you loved sweet potatoes." "That was soooo last week, get with the times, Mom! Where's the banana pudding?")

She crawls with lighting speed and can now pull up (and lower herself down) like a champ. She can cruise down the coffee table and even transfer herself to the couch to further her reach.

We love our little girl and can't wait to see what she grows into, but seriously folks, where's the pause button?!

Luv, Momma
